Local 1227 provides its members with a professional collective bargaining agent to negotiate the best labor agreements possible for its members. The Local's goal is to increase wages and benefits each time your labor agreement is negotiated. Local 1227's team of labor attorneys actively participate during negotiations through advising your negotiator or through physical participation to ensure the development of contract language beneficial to members.

Local 1227 provides professional negotiators to settle member issues prior to problems becoming grievances. This services provides members a source to nip work related problems in the bud.

Local 1227 pays the entire cost of grievance and arbitration for its dues-paying members. During grievances the Local provides professionals to represent and advise members, and a labor attorney to represent the member during arbitration. (Note: non-members may pay $ 5000 or more for legal services and other fees during arbitration)
